  2. Eating fat on the keto diet , causes the body to ketose more heavily. Solid fats help the most such as butter, bacon fat and steak untrimmed of fat. Fat provides energy on keto diet and is good for brain function. It helps you feel way more satisfied. I take just 1 or 2 TBLS of coconut oil and my cravings are haulted immediately, it leaves me nauseated but it works. I read all this in Dr. Atkins book titled Dr. Atkin’s New Diet Revolution, I don’t know if it’s still available for purchase anywhere though.
